Image Importer
With the Image Importer plugin, you can automatically import product images from an external FTP server. The plugin links the images to products in Afosto based on the product’s EAN or SKU, saving you a lot of manual work when adding product photos.
What Is the Image Importer Used For?
The plugin is designed to automatically link product images to existing products in your Afosto environment.
The linking is based on the filename of the image, which must match the product’s EAN or SKU.
Examples:
- For a product with EAN 1234567890123 → image: 1234567890123-1.jpg
- For a product with SKU ART123 → image: ART123-3.png
The numbers after the dash (-1, -2, etc.) indicate that there are multiple images for the same product.
Setting Up the Image Importer
In the Afosto platform, go to the Image Importer plugin and enter your FTP server details:
- Host (e.g., ftp.yourdomain.com)
- Username
- Password
- Path to the folder containing the images, starting with a /
Next, fill in the following settings:
- Minimum Age
The minimum age is the number of minutes that the newest file in the folder on the server must exist to prevent issues during the upload process. - Choose File Recognition
Specify whether the plugin should recognize products by EAN or SKU.
Click Save to store the settings. The plugin will now connect to the FTP server and read the folders and files.
Click Save again to start the import process. The plugin will automatically link the images to the correct products.
